This piece of an American Bald Eagle was created with oil paints on a smooth wood surface and layered with chunky, crackled paint afterward. The reasoning behind this decision was to portray the eagle breaking through its current struggle with lead poisoning (symbolized by the old "lead" paint) to show that by properly educating the public, bald eagles might finally make a comeback.
